Yeah. RFID would be easy enough to do, but the tracker would have to be pretty close to pick it up. And there’s no way it has GPS on it.

If there is a GPS tracker on it it would need power. So just cut the wires or it’s dead anyway, since who would change the batteries.
there’s nothing in it, the red sign is just a deterrent. the kind of people stealing horneytown road signs aren’t going to figure it out.

This is close to my hometown! To my knowledge, no one has tried to steal the sign since they added the RFID tracking (or threatened to) about a decade ago.
